Landrover?! Me?! With MY reputation?!

Apparently, Yes.

I’m not sure why, but i’ve always fancied owning a Land Rover, something old and distinctly British. i.e. built of pig iron and with a tendency to break down. So, last week i bought one for a song with the intention of turning it into a restored, useful and oddly fun to drive second car.

Land Rovers are one of those odd machines, especially the old Series models (before they made things like ‘vogue’ and turned into chelsea tractors driven by miniscule undernourished yummy mummies) as to me they just screamed no nonsense practicality. Yes they broke down occasionally, but they were so damned simple that you can generally fix it yourself with a hammer and some duct tape, or at least enough to get you to the nearest garage.

So this project is my restoration to some sort of usable state of my Series III 88 Land Rover, with all the spills, burns, smashed thumbs and welding injuries I’m sure i’ll run into on the way….

Hopefully there will be regular updates, and useful information and possibly even pictures of all things!
