Fatherhood

So, it turns out that I’m going to be a dad in about 10 weeks or so, something which is simultaneously both awesome and a terrifying responsibility.

This is not necessarily a bad thing – being completely (along with 1 other person) responsible for a whole person is daunting and scary, given that some days I barely feel capable of making a cup of tea.

I mean, their whole personality, fears, phobias, interests and so on will all be based on what we teach him, how we raise him and generally act around him for the next 18 years.

Having said that, all those things are also kind of cool – I get to teach him about decent music, the importance of memes, why Father Ted is the peak of comedy and many other things.

It’s all very dauntin, but rather exciting to be honest – I’m sure once it’s all in progress it’ll be great – but at the moment, I am rather bricking it…

Jo’s point was that it’s also an excuse to go on bouncy castles – as if you need an excuse!

So, much planning, and spending to be done, but it’s all fine, we’ve got a spreadsheet, and that’s what matters 🙂
